The project was mostly dormant for the first 8 months, as I had little time to invest. Plus, money is not abundant, shall we say. The sheer amount of downloadable content provided by selfless hobby-ish developers is inspiring. Personally I have the entire Star Fleet set (Kirk, Q, Data, Deanna, and Spock, plus Obsidian Ant and the pests or I mean pets). But the various stations (Helm, Tactical, Science, etc.) can each be controlled by a different crew member or, 1 crew member can control everything. The pets don’t control anything, they’re just for fun.
You can have up to 6 crew members, a ships cat, and an annoying parrot with you on your ship. They get the real actors to voice their packs, continually update them with more functionality and fix them as E:D changes things, and they work great. You need at least 1 (get to that in a sec) Voice Pack from HCS, or another plugin (such as the free one listed below).
Voice Attack by itself won’t fully command E:D.
